NEW YORK — The New England Patriots announced Friday that it has signed former New York Jets quarterback Jake Locker to a one-year contract extension, giving him the team’s all-time passing record.
Locker is the Patriots’ all- time career passer record holder and is one of only four players to reach the 2,000-yard mark, joining quarterback Drew Brees (2,988), quarterback Brett Favre (2 (tied), Brett Favres career passing yardage total of 1,974) and quarterback Peyton Manning (2.7 million).
Locker was the team and New England’s starting quarterback from 2007 to 2010.
He was a two-time Pro Bowler, completing 4,926 of his 5,719 pass attempts in two seasons.
Locks was the Jets’ starter for two seasons in 2009 and 2010.
