We are making plans to expand our growing area to include three more 2500 square foot plots; this will give us four equal-sized areas for crop production and will make crop rotation much easier and economical from year to year as seeding and supply orders can be better controlled. These equal-sized plots will make it easy to rotate crops on a four-year rotation schedule. We are well aware that 10,000 square feet of growing area doesn’t sound like much to some but we work intensively meaning crops are growing at least three seasons per year even without season extenders. Normally, only December and January are we not in the field so much but we are spending lots of time planning and repairing. We’re planning our “growing groups” now and hope to have that completed soon.
